WordPress Family Award

A message from Shaun, the creator of this award:

This is an award for everyone who is part of the “WordPress Family” I started this award on the basis that the WordPress family has taken me in, and showed me love and a caring side only WordPress can. The way people take a second to be nice, to answer a question and not make things a competition amazes me here. I know I have been given many awards, but I wanted to leave my own legacy on here by creating my own award, as many have done before. This represents “Family” we never meet, but are there for us as family. It is my honour to start this award. Thank you, Shaun @ http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/

I’m relatively new to WordPress so this award is perfect.  Those I’ve nominated have made me feel welcome and at home on this new WordPress adventure.  Most of you, my WordPress friends, have encouraged me through Five Minute Friday (FMF) comments and a few through National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo).  Thanks so much for making me feel a part of your blogosphere.

Please accept this award and pass it on to 10 people who are family you may never meet and mean as much to you as your own.

Shaun: http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/ nominated me.

Blessings,

Kimberly

The New Comprehensive American Rhyming Dictionary by Sue Young

I participated in National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) this year. I didn’t want boring, run-of-the-mill rhymes so I checked out several rhyming dictionaries from my library. At first, I thought a book with 85,000 words would be better than one with 65,000 but I was wrong. It all depends on how many of those words are useful to you. This book was by far the easiest to use and contained more useful words than any of the others. I love it!

What I like best is that you look up the sound you want to rhyme (like ‘at’ in cat) instead of looking up a particular word. So, if you are looking for more rhyming words then I would highly recommend this title.

Today’s NaPoWriMo 2013 prompt is to write fortune cookie lines.

Your Fortune Foretold

  • Today is a gift to you.  Open it.

  • Tomorrow is not promised.  Settle accounts today.

  • You will meet a friend today.  Be one.

  • You will travel a great distance to find your way home.

  • You will find a treasure.  Do not lose it.

  • A stranger will tell you the answer to your pressing question.

  • Your life will be redefined today.  Be alert.

  • An old enemy will come back to you.  Forgive.
