‘Five Minute Friday’: Remember

Five Minute Friday

Five Minute Friday

I just discovered a fantastic group of writers led by Lisa-Jo Baker, the host of “Five Minute Friday”. Each Friday Lisa-Jo announces a new writing prompt and all the writers free-write for — yep, you guessed it — five minutes. No editing. Just real. Free. Raw. This week’s prompt is Remember. This is my first go at it. I’m puttin’ my brave face on. Ready. Set. Go! Remember:

It was early on the morning of September 18, 1995.  My travel bag was packed and I was ready to go.  Already I had delivered twins weighing 8.5 and 8.1 and later, a son weighing 9 lbs.  The doctor decided, under the circumstances, that it would be wise to schedule Elijah’s birth.  He was already a big guy, full term, and ready to greet the world.  His dad drove me to the hospital where everyone was waiting to welcome Elijah into the world.  A short time later, weighing in at 8.6 was our new son, Elijah James.  His birth began an extraordinary adventure … but today’s Five Minute Friday time is up.

Here are some other entries for this week’s prompt:

I'd love to discuss this with you. What do you think?
